Petty Island Walking Tour with SWEP GP

Join NJSWEP and SWEP GP for a walking tour of Petty Island. The tour will be approximately two mile son a flat unpaved surface. Please wear sturdy shoes. Attendees should arrive promptly at 3pm for the start of the tour, led by representatives from the Center for Aquatic Sciences and the NJ Natural Lands Trust. The tour will discuss the environmental history of Petty Island, focused on remediation. An outdoor networking component will follow that includes food and nonalcoholic beverages.

This event is capped at 35 attendees with waitlist. Registration closes May 9th. 

Rain date is May 22nd, 2025, at 3pm.

Please note that a single port-a-john is available for use on the island. A liability waiver will be provided with your registration for your review prior to attendance. A copy of the waiver will be provided for signature the day of the event and is required for participation. Directions to the island will be provided to attendees following registration. Prompt attendance at 3pm expected. Bring appropriate hiking footwear and outdoor clothing to match the day's weather forecast.
