Overview / Responsibilities
Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is currently seeking a Geoscientist to join our team in Somerset, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. degree in geology, or a related field such as hydrogeology, environmental engineering, or environmental science, with 6 to 10 years of experience.
Responsibilities for this position include the development and preparation of remedial investigations, including but not limited to environmental data evaluation and statistical analysis, field implementation, and report preparation. Candidate will be responsible for task management, and interaction with senior staff in the office. Candidates should have strong quantitative skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and statistical analysis skills.
Key Responsibilities
· To support the completion of Phase II and remedial investigation activities
· To support and prepare data management, tabulation, and analysis
Skills / Qualifications
- B.S. required; Master’s Degree preferred
- 6 - 10 years’ related experience
- Field experience includes well installations, excavations, ground water sampling, pump testing, soil and ground water remediation
- Rock Coring experience - essential
- Data interpretation
- Ability to prepare remedial investigation/action reports and workplans, QAPPs, proposals
- Familiar with LSRP program and guidance documents; preparing LSRP submittals
- Significant VI experience a plus
- Budget tracking experience
- Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of GIS, gINT, Surfer, Voxler, Grapher, EQuIS
- Ground water modeling familiarity a plus
- Well organized and extremely driven
- Valid driver’s Licence
- Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Senior Associate/Principal Environmental Scientist

Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is currently seeking a Senior Associate / Principal Environmental Scientist to join our team in Somerset, NJ.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong seller/doer working to grow key client accounts
- Ensuring the management and coordination of project staff and sub-contractors to ensure safe, cost effective, efficient and timely completion of projects in order to meet and/or exceed client expectations
- Acting as a technical professional resource for the strategic and successful competition of multiple major challenging projects
- Developing plans, designs, and studies that meet the client’s needs and comply with all applicable regulations
- Developing and maintaining communication channels with clients, stake holders, and internal Amec Foster Wheeler personnel to ensure that work flows smoothly as well as providing first class services
- Overseeing the development of project budgets, schedules and reports
- Gathering up to date information first hand at sites, meeting with clients and constantly monitoring work performances
- Assisting with negotiation of consent orders, consent decrees, permits, settlements and access agreements; track and ensure compliance
Skills / Qualifications
Required
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Environmental Science or similar field
- 10 – 15 years operations experience with environmental projects including at least 8 years increasing responsibility as a project manager
- Extensive experience in environmental compliance and remedial projects
- Ability to develop new, proprietary and innovative solutions to current processes is an asset
- Willingness to travel
- Experience in managing a portfolio of projects
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
- Familiar with LSRP program and guidance documents; preparing LSRP submittals
- Demonstrated professional judgement, consistency, and attention to detail, proven track-record of leading and successfully completing a range of multi-disciplinary projects
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
- Must be computer literate and familiar with Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Must be a self-starter and successfully work in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
Preferred
· Strong experience in sediment investigations and characterization
· Experience with major permitting projects
